How Is It Used?
Sure a phrase may "read" cool, but how is it really used? In what situation would someone yell it out? You can submit and catalog how the phrases are used along with their cultural references. The currently logged uses are listed below.
When somebody hits a homerun.
SportsCenter neophyte Steve Berthiaume has stolen this phrase as his own. Two words for ya, Steve: Milton Berle!
On an especially powerful dunk.
The aforementioned Steve Berthiaume, the rip-off artist, came up with one for a Denver Nuggets center's monster jamarama: "Say hello to my Raef LaFrentz!!!"
When someone hits a monster dunk right on somebody.
Add the following: "Watch the pelicans, Manny."
After someone hits a bomb to center field (i.e. Barry "HR" Bonds).
And..."I never liked the cock-a-roach!!!"
when a looooong pass is completed in football.
When any big or amazing play happens in any of the major 4 sports.
When Roy Williams (Dallas Cowboys) makes some of his great hits.
When someone gets jacked up.
Also used in tennis (usually a Grand Slam event) when someone like Andy Roddick serves a 140-plus MPH whizzer.
One time, Stevie B shortened it and said "Say hi to my small pal."
When a boxer gets hit with a punch he never saw coming!
