How Is It Used?
Sure a phrase may "read" cool, but how is it really used? In what situation would someone yell it out? You can submit and catalog how the phrases are used along with their cultural references. The currently logged uses are listed below.
When Mookie Blaylock hits a three pointer.
When Mookie Blaylock is "en fuego" (see Dan Patrick).
Variation for Houston Rocket Moochie Norris: "M-M-M-M-M-MOOCHIE!!!"
I'd assume this came from "Do The Right thing", a movie in which the main character, Spike Lee, was named Mookie, and a mentally handicapped person, Smiley, would say "M-M-M-M-M-Mookie".
Rich Eisen tried to use "M-M-M-M-M-M-Maxwell" when Vernon Maxwell was "en fuego" during Houston's championship runs. Scott summarily dismissed his attempt.
That's gimmick infringement. Blaylock didn't deserve his own cool phrase, but got one anyway.
