What is the name of the song playing in the background with Rich Eisen on ESPN? I cannot find any information online anywhere about the name, it is stuck in my head, but it is a great song. Something from the 70's? It is the commercial with him helping a football team with its playbooks and another scene with him shooting footballs in practice! That is all I remember.

I've practically imploded looking for the name of the song. I found it. It's called "Dear Mr. Fantasy". This particular version is by a band called "Traffic".

I am also looking for information on that song, I have been scanning Kazaa for days trying to find it. I looked for Allman Brothers, thought it may be Ted Nugent... no luck anywhere! If anyone knows, please email me the info. Great tune that is now stuck in my head.

Thanks guys. I was looking for the song, too. I didn't think there would be a chance of finding it. Usually you can find lyrics online by searching for them, but it was tough to make out any lyrics in the commercial. Thanks again!

I'm terribly sorry to intrude in your thread, but I just wanted to help you guys out in finding the name of the song playing in the background or the Eisen show commercial. It is "Dear Mr. Fantasy" By the British Folk/Jazz/Psychedelic/Rock band Traffic. It is from the 1967 album of the same name. Steve Winwood of Blind Faith (with Eric Clapton)and solo fame (Higher Love, Back in the High Life) is the singer/guitarist/bassist/keyboard player for the band.

I typed rich eisen commercial in google search and this site popped up. it took me longer to write this message than it did to find the song name and band.

I'm glad to have helped. I agree with earlier posts: I too am mesmerized at the idea of others being as "bowled over" by the song and steve winwood's voice (he was one of the "traffic" members). The band was recently inducted into the hall of fame.

Enjoy ;)
